Travel planning involves a long series of questions and decisions — destinations, dates, activities, preferences, and changes to the plan along the way. Traditional travel-planning interfaces require users to navigate forms, filters and multiple screens to assemble an itinerary. The challenge was to create a more natural experience, where travellers could simply describe what they want and build the trip through conversation.
We developed an AI-powered itinerary assistant designed for WhatsApp, so travellers interact with a travel-planning system through a familiar conversational interface rather than a separate application.
The assistant combines conversational AI with the underlying itinerary-generation capabilities to create an interactive planning experience.
This makes itinerary creation an iterative conversation rather than a one-time generation step. A traveller can open with something like “I have five days in Istanbul, I love history and food, but I don’t want the trip to feel rushed” — then ask, refine, change and explore from there.
The assistant is live. A conversational interface makes AI-powered travel planning more accessible and intuitive: bringing itinerary planning into WhatsApp reduces the friction between what a traveller wants to say and the travel plan they want to create.
